I am pleased with where we are after our first invitational and know these girls are going to keep working hard to improve upon the times and marks they set today. Makena Nesbitt: placed 3rd in Pole Vault and 5thin 100m Hurdles. Personal bests in both events. Now ranked 2ndon Punxsy’s All-Time performance list in the pole vault. It was great to see things click for Makena at pole vault today. Kate Horner: placed 6th in 4x800, 6thin 400m. Kate did a great job running her first 400 of the season, she is really motivated to improve upon her times from last season. 4x800 Relay: Each of the girls ran some good splits staying competitive with the strong field of teams. Alyse started the relay off with a nice split, while Olivia split a personal best. Elyse and Kate both had times good for only their second meet of the season. Leah Miller: Leah had a strong day in the jumps. She did a nice job of bringing her best to the three jumps and placed very well in each. Sammy Dyson: Sammy had some great throws today hitting marks near her personal bests in both events. She was extremely calm throughout both the shot and discus. Today should have been a big boost of confidence for her. Alyse Whitman (800), Shawnelle Miller (Discus) and Cassidy Reed (High Jump) each had some solid performances just missing the top 6 awards. Olivia Roberts (1600), Mady Matthews (100 dash), Katelyn Griebel (Javelin), and Kaitlin Doverspike (400) each either hit or matched personal bests. Punxsy travels Tuesday to compete against Dubois.

We now have a baseline of where everyone is within their events and we can continue to work to make improvements. St. Marys has really become a strong team on the track and they showed it today despite the cold, snowy conditions. Our seniors are having quite a busy week with the Variety Show coming up and I am pleased with how they still were able to come and help out the team for the majority of the meet. In the Field: Sammy Dyson and Taegan Ludwig both did a nice job in the throws placing in two events each. Taegan had a personal best throw in the Javelin. Katelyn Griebel had a personal best in the Javelin. In the Jumps: Leah Miller, Elyse White, Cassidy Reed, Katelyn Griebel each were able to get in some solid jumps considering the conditions. It was really nice to see the Leah, Cassidy and Katelyn sweep the High Jump. Makena Nesbitt had a good first meet at the pole vault. On the track: The 4x800 relay team of Elyse White, Alyse Whitman, Kate Horner and Olivia Roberts started out the first meet with a good time and all look very capable of running some nice splits. We are really trying to put in the work and are going to focus on using these Tuesday dual meets to build the strength it is going to take to have some top performances by districts. I am hoping that with now having the opportunity to compete the girls get motivated to push each other more to some better performances in the weeks ahead. Punxsy is back in action on Saturday at the Brookville Invitational. -We have a mixture of experience and youth.
-We are returning all but one of the girls who competed at districts last year and are returning all three girls who competed at the state meet. -In 2017 we had 12 girls compete at the District 9 AA Championships, where we had point scorers in 7 of the 11 qualified events and placed 6th out of 25 teams. There were also 3 girls who advanced on to the PIAA State Championship Meet at Shippensburg. -Our team is not deep by any means but we look to have some talent spread throughout the middle distance area, relays, throws and jumps that should help us be competitive. -Our challenge this year is to continue to strive to meet the high standards that are set through the competition in our district and to develop our athlete to their fullest potential. Kate is the returning 400 meter District Champion and also was a crucial part of both the 4th place 4x800 relay and the 8th place 4x400 relay teams contributing to 14 of the teams total district points, while also scoring over 150 points throughout the season. Kate finished 25th overall at the state meet in the 400. Kate is coming into this season with more confidence and eagerness for competition. With her mindset I think she has the ability to make some big improvements in her times from last year. After having the opportunity to compete last year at the state meet she is aiming to return and put herself in position to make finals. Alyse Whitman and Elyse White were two other key members to our 4x800 relay and the 4x400 relay teams. Alyse is one of the top returning 800 runners in the district after placing 6th last year, while Elyse has goals of qualifying individually in the 800 as well as the long jump. Our 4x800 relay was extremely competitive throughout last season and with the team returning Kate, Elyse and Alyse I know those girls are motivated to get a 4th to step in to help make a run at being top in the district. Makena Nesbitt competed in both the 100 and 300 hurdles at districts placing 9th and 11th respectively, while also running a leg on the 4x400 relay. Makena was only .11 seconds off of medaling in the hurdles last year. She will also be pole vaulting, where she made some big learning steps during the summer and winter. Isabel Hackenberry returns with State meet experience from her junior season of cross country where she placed 122nd at the PIAA State Championships in Hershey. During her sophomore season of track and field, she placed 6th in the 3200 at the District Championship meet. Gabrielle Franklin narrowly missed the 3200 qualifying standard last season, so hitting that time is definitely a goal of hers. Hayley Dilts, Brookleyn Hutton, Baylee Ritchey all return after a successful first season. Dilts will primarily be running distance, while Hutton and Ritchey will move between mid-distance and sprints. Newcomers Olivia Roberts, Riley Franklin, Mady Matthews, Katelynn Osborn, Katelyn Griebel, Madison Brooks look to step in and begin making some contributions to the team. Olivia and Riley ran excellent times in the 1600 and 800 in middle school, both having qualified for the middle school championships meet. Mady Matthews and Katelyn Osborn saw success in the 100 and 300 hurdles during middle school, also having qualified for the championship meet. Katelyn Griebel was one of the top middle school jumpers last season, having qualified for the championship meet as well, and will look to test her abilities in the sprints/hurdles and throws as well. Jumpers Midori Bridges and Cassidy Reed both return from successful seasons in the High Jump last year where they each found a spot on the podium at districts, with Reed advancing to the state meet. Cassidy had a very deserving opportunity to compete at the state level last year and is motivated to do what it takes to get back there again. Midori is recently coming off of a strong indoor track and field campaign where she placed 7th in the high jump at the Tri-State Championships with an all-time best jump of 4-11.5. Midori’s work ethic has really impressed me since indoor. Leah Miller returns with District and State experience. During her sophomore season at Districts, she place 1st in the High Jump, 3rd in the Long Jump, 4th in the Triple Jump and ran a leg on the 3rd place 4x400 relay team. We really have some stiff competition when it comes to the jumps on our team, especially in the high jump. Having some of the jumpers at the level that they are at will be some nice motivation as we get going with meets. Kaitlin Doverspike, Alexa Stang, Abby Gemmell each return having made big improvements in their jumps a season ago. After a successful first indoor track and field season, Kaitlin is one I think could really make some big improvements and reach a district qualifying standard. Newcomer Paige Beatty looks to find success in her first season of outdoor competition. Throwers Sammy Dyson, Shawnelle Miller and Taegan Ludwig each return as the top throwers from last season. Sammy really had a breakout season last year, scoring over 200 points on the season and a total of 16 points for the team at the district meet. She set two school records in the shot put and discus, while also earning a first place in the discus and third place in the shot put at districts. She finished off last season with 12th place in the shot put and 15th place in the discus at the state meet. Just recently she placed 9th overall in the indoor track and field state meet in the shot put and 15th overall in the shot put at the New Balance Indoor Nationals meet. Sammy is such a talented athlete, she has the potential to be at the top in both the shot put and discus as well as a contender in the jumps as was seen during indoor’s this year. Shawnelle Miller placed 14th in the discus last year at the district meet. Taegan Ludwig placed 12th in the shot put and 17th in the javelin at the district meet. At districts last year, Taegan was one of only two other freshman competing in the shot put and one of only three competing in the javelin. Both Shawnelle and Taegan have put in the work throughout the winter that should put them in good position from the start of the season. Krisitin Lowmaster, Ashaunti Damore, Sophia Lambiotte return to continue the improvements they made over last season in the throws. Newcomers Hannah Galando, Mackenzie Martin, Kaitlin Lowmaster look to step in to challenge the group of throwers. Coaches John Snyder in his 2nd year as head coach Assistants are Heather Good(hurdles), Ann Koppenhaver(jumps), Joel Martin(throws), Mark Curtis(jumps-on the boys side but also works with the girls) -They each are excellent in getting the best from our girls Our middle school team’s numbers have increased and look promising for the future Krista Lowry and Kelly Martin are working specifically with the middle school girls The day turned out to be just perfect with great weather and strong competition across the board in all of the events. With us switching to AA this year I was extremely impressed with how strong the competition was at this meet, and I feel that with this move our team is really being driven in the right direction to becoming more competitive.
In the 4x800 Relay Elyse started out the relay rather aggressively which is really what I wanted to see but it definitely took a toll on her in her last 200 meters. I am really pleased with how strong she has become in the 800 in just one season. Jenna had a little trouble coming back from her hurdles race to really get going but I was glad to see her help the team out and have an additional opportunity at districts to compete. Alyse and Kate once again were consistent with very good splits. If we would have been around our typical time we could have grabbed a medal but I am still pleased with how successful we have been throughout the season with this relay. In the 400 Kate really got a great start taking the lead before the 200 mark and just really pushed herself all the way to the finish. She ran a personal best time by 1.22 seconds and has now put herself on the all time performance list. It was definitely an exciting race, I was really happy to see her win after how hard she has worked this season. In the 800 Alyse ran with the leaders for the first 600 meters before Wortman (ECC) and Mills (Clarion), both seniors, pushed ahead to the finish leaving the 3rd through 6th place girls to battle down the stretch. She ran a commendable race and is a great leader for this team. I know she will continue to work to be at the top next year. In the 100 hurdles Makena and Jenna both ran flawless. They both were quick in between hurdles and very aggressive against a strong field of girls. Makena was able to run her second fastest time of the season, only missing finals by .11 while also being one of only two freshman in the race. Jenna also ran the second fastest time of the season and improved her seeding by one place. In the 300 hurdles Jenna improved her seeding by one spot and ran her second fastest time of the season. Jenna ran great over her last 3 hurdles, she was really racing right to the line with Cole (Coudersport). Makena had a few stutters in the second through fourth hurdles that cost her some time, but she is learning how to work through some of those. I was impressed too with the fact that like the 100 hurdles she was one of only two freshman in this race. She is really a hard worker and is really gaining some confidence for the future. In the 4x400 Relay Elyse ran her fastest split of the season, while Makena and Alyse came through with splits close to their best. In the High Jump Midori and Cassidy both exceeded their seedings. I keep saying how consistent these two girls have been lately and it was proven today. If Midori’s timing were just slightly different we would be sending two high jumpers to the state championships. The way it played out was quite unique with there being a three-way tie for second and a six-way tie for 5th. I am really happy with how these girls came in with confidence and didn’t get intimidated by a few of the other girls seedings. In the Shot Put Taegan improved her seeding and had a nice throw. She had a great opportunity to compete against some girls that are at the top of the state. One of those being her teammate. Sam had several great throws. Her best being only ¼ inch off of her school record throw from last week. It was awesome to see those top six girls really pushing each other to their best. I will not be surprised to see several of those girls on the podium at the state meet. In the discus Shawnelle threw a mark just shy of her best that qualified her for the meet. Shawnelle is really becoming more confident in her abilities. Sam really looked great in the discus. She is really coming into form at the right time in both events. Several of her throws were farther than the second place winner. In the triple jump Midori and Sam put together several nice jumps. Overall we were very pleased with the performances the girls had. It is great to come into the district for the first year and be able to place 6th out of 25 teams, send three individuals to the state championship meet and have 5 individuals earn a top 6 spot. With the drive and focus these girls have, I really see the ability for us to have several other individuals and a relay qualify in the future. Now our focus is on getting Cassidy and Kate an opportunity to experience the state meet for the first time and see how they match up against the other girls in their events. With Sam it is a little different, she has been to the state meet last year and comes in with top 10 rankings in both the shot and discus. If she continues with throws similar to the past several meets she really has an opportunity to place in either event. ** 25 teams
Top six individual athletes and relays account in the team scoring, with the top two individuals and relays advancing to the state championships held on the 26th and 27th at Shippensburg University. We have several athletes and relays seeded in the top six in their respective events. It is our goal to put everyone in the events they will have the most success. The top teams look to be Elk County Catholic and Brookville. I am thinking we can probably place 5th or 6th as a team; however I am really hoping we can advance some girls to the state meet in Shippensburg. Sam Dyson has two top seeds in both the shot (40-0) and discus (136-8). She is coming off of a fantastic week in which she broke school records in both events. She is extremely focused and knows what it takes in big meets like districts. She has some very solid competition in both events and will definitely be pushed to throw her best. She won both the shot and discus a year ago in district 9 AAA and looks to do the same this year in AA. She also is a fifth seed in the triple jump (34-0.5). Kate Horner is a second seed in the 400 (62.50), while also a part of the third seed 4x800 relay team (10:28) and sixth seed 4x400 relay team (4:25). Kate has done a fine job in her first varsity season. She finds herself in the mix of what looks to be a very tight 400 race, with the top six entries only separated by one second. I fully expect her to produce a great race. Alyse Whitman is a sixth seed in the 800 (2:30.78), while also a part of the third seed 4x800 relay team (10:28) and sixth seed 4x400 relay team (4:25). Alyse was runner up last year at districts in the 800, only missing the top spot by three tenths of a second. Alyse also finds herself in what looks to be a very tight race in the 800 with the top 8 girls within 5 seconds of each other. Alyse is a very driven athlete. She came through with a race last year that is still talked about and I feel that Friday will be no different. Midori Bridges is a sixth seed in the high jump (4-11), while also a provisional qualifier in the triple jump (31-4). Midori was runner up in the high jump last year at districts and it would be great for her to find the podium this year. Midori is sitting in a very good position and could likely move up a few spots if she matches her best jump. Jenna Barnoff is a 13th seed in the 100 hurdles (18.00), 14th seed in the 300 hurdles (52.90) and a part of the third seed 4x800 relay team (10:28). Jenna is the lone senior member competing at districts. Jenna has the opportunity to end her high school career with some very solid performances. Makena Nesbitt is an 11th seed in the 100 hurdles (17.50) and the 300 hurdles (52.20), as well as a part of the 4x400 relay team (4:25). For a freshman, Makena is ranked rather well. I feel she has the ability to make the hurdle finals. Cassidy Reed is a 12th seed in the high jump (4-9). Cassidy placed third a year ago at districts. With her consistency this year I expect her to move up in position. Shawnelle Miller is a provisional qualifier in the discus (92-4). Shawnelle has really been throwing to her potential as of late. I am really expecting a personal best come Friday. Taegan Ludwig is a provisional qualifier in the shot (30-9) and javelin (99-3). Taegan has done extremely well this year. I really look for this to be a great experience for her. Bailey Jones is a 24th seed in the 800(2:39.25). Bailey has had a great season as a part of the relays and running individually in the 800. She currently has an injury that could possibly hold her out of competing come Friday. The 4x800 relay team of Alyse, Kate, Jenna and Elyse White are a third seed (10:28). If all of the girls are running their best, I really think they have a chance to move up a spot. I think it will be difficult to grab one of the top two spots but these girls could really make things interesting. 4x400 relay team of Alyse, Kate, Makena and Elyse White are a 6th seed. With it being the final event on the track, I am hoping the girls go for their best, which could put them in position to move up a place or two. With all of the talented athletes scheduled to compete the meet looks to be quite an exciting day for our girls to prove their capabilities. Punxsy Results:

It was a nice opportunity too for some of the girls to really go for some great times or marks that had already qualified before we start to really focus on next Friday’s district meet. Sam Dyson continued her focus in the throws from Tuesday with another school record throw. Things are just really clicking for Sam lately. She has worked very hard to get to the level she is at. We are just hoping to keep this flowing right through the end of the month. Her 40 foot throw in the shot surpasses an 18 year old school record of 39 feet 7 inches previously held by Mindy Cressley. Her discus throw on Tuesday moved her to 4th in the state, while her throw in the shot tonight moved her to 7th. Shawnelle Miller and Taegan Ludwig both had some great throws at the shot and discus. Shawnelle just missed the district standard in the discus by two inches. They both have have had an outstanding week in the throws. I am really hoping they can make the district meet provisionally to continue their success. Kate Horner had an outstanding 400 race. She was able to get out quickly, running leading the race through the first 300 meters. Her races just keep getting better. I am really excited to see what she is able to do at districts. Alyse Whitman looked in good form really controlling much of the race. I was very pleased to see how aggressive she was during the beginning of her race. That was one thing that I stressed to her and Kate about their races. They need to have the confidence to set get out hard. This race really proved that she is ready to make things interesting in the 800 at districts. Elyse White had a fantastic race in the open 800. She ran very aggressive and closed her final 200 meters of her race nicely winning her heat. Makena Nesbitt ran a good 100 hurdle race. She is really working on building confidence in these bigger invitationals. As a freshman I am very happy with the times she has achieved this year. Gabby Franklin had another personal best in the 3200 just narrowly missing the qualifying standard. Gabby has done a great job of running smarter races and improved her times along the way. Jenna Barnoff had one of her better 300 hurdle races. It is nice to see how strong she looks going into her final districts of her high school career. Midori Bridges had some nice jumps at the high jump despite some difficult conditions. Based on our girls performances from this week, I feel pretty confident who we take to districts next Friday will definitely be making an impact. **Entries for Districts occurs this weekend, by Sunday we will know other than those who have made the qualifying standards who was close enough to the standards to make districts provisionally. **Districts will be held next Friday at Kane Today turned out to be a great day of competition for the girls and a nice final home meet for our four seniors that were recognized at the beginning of the meet. Our seniors—Jenna Barnoff, Alexis McKee, Alexis Vite and Ashley Vite are a wonderful group of girls. A quote that was read during the recognition by Alexis McKee said “Work hard, and always set goals for yourself.” I really feel like this group of girls has done a nice job at leading the underclass to raise the bar for the girls team. Myself and the other coaches truly appreciate their efforts over their years on the team.
Another recognition came in the celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Punxsy Girls Track and Field. Those in attendance were recognized and programs were passed out with all-time performance lists, photos, news articles and yearbook supplements. Overall it was a great night for our girls to see and hear about the past of their sport. Coach Koppenhaver and Coach Good did a fantastic job of making the evening a success. AA District 9 Qualifiers: Cassidy Reed-High Jump Midori Bridges-High Jump In the Field: Sam Dyson really made this 40th Anniversary one to remember. In the discus she has been making some nice throws in practice and things just clicked for her school record throw. Coach Martin has been saying that she is right there with some of her throws at practice and that one tonight was just perfect. As a coach you can’t be any happier that to see the expression on her face and Coach Martin’s face after her throw. She has been working extremely hard for the past 18 months and to see it pay off with a school record was just awesome. Sam's school record throw was 8 feet 1 inch farther than the previous record held by Mandi Klingensmith of 128’ 7’’ in 2003. To make things even better she threw within inches of her best in the shot and jumped a personal best in the triple as well. Taegan Ludwig had a big day as well. She was able to blast past the 30 foot mark in the shot put twice and most likely landed herself a provisional trip to districts. She had a fantastic improvement in the discus as well. As a freshman she is really doing a great job and I am extremely pleased to see her have such a great meet today. In the Jumps: Midori Bridges matched her best jump ever in the high jump meeting the district qualifying standard and had a personal best in the triple jump. Midori is a great competitor. She has had some shin issues of late but is really getting back to form and doing what I know she is capable of. Cassidy Reed had a fantastic high jump today. I am really happy to see her hit the qualifying standard. She definitely has the capabilities to be a factor come next Friday at districts. On the track: Kate Horner ran her second fastest split in the 4x800 and had her fastest split of the season in the 4x400. Kate also did a great job against Ashton McGriff in the open 400. She really gave a great effort and had an excellent first 250 meters. Alyse Whitman put together two strong 800’s in the relay and the open race. She camed back and ran a 63.9 on the 4x400 relay, which was her fastest split of the season. Kate and Alyse are such great relay runners. They will do whatever it takes to be in the lead. Elyse White was very aggressive in her races today. Her split in the 4x800 was her fastest of the season. Makena Nesbitt had two great hurdle races improving her time again in the 100 hurdles. She also ran a personal best split in the 4x400 relay. She has really become a strong runner as the season has progressed. Sophie Wyant had a personal best high jump and did a nice job in the sprints to score some points. Gabby Franklin ran a personal best in the 1600 and came back with a very solid 3200 time. I am really happy with her improvements this season. 4x800 and 4x400- Relay team ran the fastest time of the season. The girls are traveling Thursday to compete at the Redbank Valley Invitational for one last chance for some of the girls to qualify for next Friday’s district meet. It was definitely difficult for the girls to compete but I think the girls did well considering the conditions. Sam Dyson threw pretty consistent in the discus, winning by over 8 feet. She even had a few nice throws according to Coach Martin that just missed being counted marks. In the Shot she threw a personal best throw by almost one foot in the finals that has moved her up to 10th in the state rankings. Kate Horner came back from a nice lead leg of 4x800 to race a nice open 400, running close to a personal best time and really pushing Biddle(winner from Grove City) for most of the race. She is really determined to get her time down and has been improving some key parts of her race lately. Alyse Whitman came back from a nice anchor leg on the relay to run another consistent 800 time. We are really working to get her first lap a bit faster so she can be right in the mix of things come districts. Makena Nesbitt ran a very competitive 300 hurdles race and looked extremely strong in the first two-thirds of her race. 4x800-Jenna Barnoff popped into the relay for only the second time this season and did a fantastic job. 4x400-Alyse, Kate and Elyse had some nice splits in the relay. Gabby Franklin did a nice job improving her time by 22 seconds in the 3200. I really think she has a good shot at making the district standard this upcoming week. Jenna Barnoff looked good in the 100 and 300 hurdle events just missing medaling in both. Cassidy Reed has been extremely consistent at the high jump lately and had a personal best in the triple jump by 11 inches. Alexa Stang (triple jump) and Sophie Lambiotte (long jump) also achieved personal bests in both of their jumps. Hopefully this week we can get everyone feeling 100% and confident in their abilities going into districts the following week. These last two meets this week before districts will be an opportunity for those who have qualified to improve their times and mark and maybe even push a few more girls to make the standards. Punxsy Girls host Bradford in the final dual meet of the season on Tuesday. Senior Recognition will take place beginning at 3:45 prior to the start of the meet along with a celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Punxsy Girls Track and Field. Other than the wind today turned out to be much better weather-wise than anticipated. We saw some good work out of the girls, but Hollidaysburg and Indiana definitely were stronger teams. Hollidaysburg had some very nice sprinters/jumpers that gave us some solid competition on the track and in the field, while Indiana also had some strength on that track in the middle distance events.
We have some work to continue to do but I feel like our girls are in great shape and ready to produce some top performances. In the Field: Taegan Ludwig and Alexis McKee had some nice throws and did a nice job in stepping up to score some points. In the Jumps: Kaitlyn Doverspike had an outstanding meet with personal bests in both the long and triple jump. It was nice to see her have such a break out meet. She has really been working hard and it showed today. Cassidy Reed and Midori Bridges really looked good at the high jump. Sam Dyson had a real nice triple jump and has been really consistent with jumps lately. On the track: Makena and Jenna doubled back from the relay to the hurdles quite nicely. Those events are back to back and that really showed me how tough those two girls are. Gabby Franklin ran a personal best in both the 1600 and 3200. She is getting into the form that I saw her in during cross country. Bailey Jones and Alyse Whitman did a nice job at doubling the 400 and 800. That’s a tough meet but it definitely shows they have some strength going into a big invitational like we have this Saturday. 4x800--- Makena, Nesbitt, Jenna Barnoff and Elia Gaston did a great job running the relay for the first time. Elyse White ran a real competitive race in the relay as well. 4x400—Alyse ran her fastest split of the season. Bailey did a fantastic job in the lead off leg of the race. I am really expecting some big performances over the next week. We are looking at all of the good things the girls have been doing in their events and where everyone stacks up against the other competitors in the district and trying to raise the bar a bit to see how much improvement we can make going into districts. In the field the girls won 3 of the 7 events. After a tough loss to ECC on Tuesday, the girls had a strong day of practice on Wednesday and came out today and put up some nice performances. Many of these girls are very motivated to be the best and it is exciting to see how hard they are working in practices and at these dual meets to improve. In the Field: Sam Dyson threw within inches of her best in the shot and had another great throw in the discus. She is becoming extremely consistent with her throws each meet. Shawnelle Miller had a personal best throw in the discus by over 5 feet and is really closing in on the district qualifying mark of 92 feet. Jordan Adams and Ashaunti Damore both had personal best throws in both the shot and discus. In the Jumps: Kaitlyn Doverspike (long jump), Sophia Lambiotte (long jump) and Cassidy Reed (triple Jump) both had personal best jumps. Midori Bridges had some nice jumps today Elyse White had another nice jump in the long jump. On the track: Kate, Bailey and Alyse each had three solid performances. They each really do a nice job of going out each meet and giving it their best no matter what event they are in. Makena Nesbitt ran her fastest 100m hurdle time of the season. Jenna Barnoff did a nice job in the 1600 for the first time this year. Elia Gaston ran a personal best in the 800. 4x800---Kate Horner ran her personal best split. These girls really pushed themselves and are looking like they have the potential to do well in the future if they continue to make improvements. 4x400—Alyse Whitman, Makena Nesbitt, Bailey Jones, and Kaitlyn Doverspike ran personal best splits. It was nice to see two 4x400 teams with several girls getting a chance to improve their time and have a little bit of team competition. There are some strong relay teams in our district and we are really going to have to do our best over the next few weeks to bring our times down.
